Welcome to the Cracked Mirror Publishing website.

17 December 2008

Yep, this month's newsletter is behind schedule. Between holiday shopping, heavier work at the day-job, and illness, I'll be luck to get the next issue out by January. Keep an eye out and I'll let you know when it's ready.

19 November 2008

The wait is over!

November's Other Side of the Mirror is live at RPGnow/DrivethruRPG.

24 October 2008

FYI, what appears to have started as a brief vacation has extended itself, rather unexpectedly, into a longer October long vacation. I am not dead, the newsletter will be back in November.

The review you asked for will be appearing in that November issue, Kevin.

PS -- Oh, yeah! Also, I deleted the Cracked Mirror Forums again. They were just acting as a spammer magnet and causing me more of a headache than they were worth. If you want to contact me you can email me at the address that I've got posted in a million places. If you want to chat, you can email me or hang out on one of several forums that I check infrequently (RPGnet, Story-Games, Grumbling Dwarf, Houses of the Blooded).

  1. We've just released our 26th M&M Superlink product on Drivethru/RPGnow: ArcheTech Special Report: An Assortment of Armor. Check it out!
  2. We have, once again, installed a forum which can be reached by clicking the tab just under this page's title. This time around it is a something a little less unusual. Feel free to stop by for a chat.

METAHUMAN HACKS GOVERNMENT DATABASE

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/AP-Metahuman-Hacks-Government-Database.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

By ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: August 22, 2008
BETHESDA (AP) -- Today, infamous metahuman hacker Killa Byte once again claims to have "liberated crucial info critical to metahuman survival" from an unnamed U.S. government agency. Killa Byte's press release goes on to claim that prestigious researcher Dr. Viktor Archeville, founder of the ArcheTech Research Corporation, is "a threat to metahumans everywhere as he continues to provide aid to governments around the world in imprisoning and exterminating our people."
As many will remember, Killa Byte was responsible last year for a number of hacking incidents, most notably the theft and publication of the Turnbull Memo in which then Wisconsin Governor Archibald Turnbull expressed interest in lacing his state's drinking water with hydropropylalchimase (HPA), a chemical believed by many to suppress metahuman abilities.
Killa Byte has said that he will release the top-secret files to the world later today. Dr. Archeville or another representative of the ArcheTech Corporation could not be reached for comment.

For those paying attention, this month's Other Side of the Mirror went live on the 15th. You're reading about it now because, apparently, I always forget something.

4 July 2008

FYI, this month's Other Side of the Mirror is going to be delayed. I'm going to say it will probably be a week. So, expect it around the 15th.

14 June 2008

For those who haven't noticed yet, the June Other Side of the Mirror is now available for download from RPGnow and DrivethruRPG.

I've also set up a Tangler forum for anyone that wants to discuss Cracked Mirror projects or just talk about gaming. I was hoping to use the cool embedding feature to put a Tangler box directly below entries but that doesn't seem to be working with the wiki software.

2 June 2008

For the last few weeks I've been working on an idea that has been fermenting in my brain for some time. Now the first draft of the Perfect Fantasy playtest file is available for download over here. Check it out.

In other news, Jonathan "Dr. Archeville" Howell has turned in a new manuscript! I'm working on the first editing pass now, so keep your eyes peeled for a new Superlink release.

1 May 2008

As promised, the Cracked Mirror forums have be closed and deleted. I doubt anyone will miss them. I'm unlikely to.

--Jason

22 April 2008

FYI, on May 1st I'm closing down the Cracked Mirror forums because I'm the only one that posts on them. If you would like to prevent me from doing so, my best suggestion is to start posting. There's a tab at the top that will take you to the forums.

Happy Earth Day!

7 April 2008

This month's Other Side of the Mirror is going to be late. I'm not sure just how late yet but it won't be more than a week.

2 April 2008

Apparently, free products have been fixed and are once again working on DriveThruRPG/RPGnow. I know this not because they feel any need to contact their publishers about site issues but because I've started to receive sales notifications for free products again.

--Jason

30 March 2008

Maddeningly, it appears that DriveThruRPG/RPGnow disabled all free products on their sales sites a few days ago without notifying vendors.

If you would like a copy of any of the 2008 Other Side of the Mirror newsletters during this outage email me at jadettman[at]gmail.com and I'll be happy to send you one.

Additionally, if anyone is interested in a free subscription to Other Side of the Mirror let me know at that same email address and I'll put you on the list.

Another new year, another new website. This one should do us for a while.

What's up with Cracked Mirror?

Lately, Cracked Mirror has been pretty quiet. The reason for that is fairly simple: I'm tired. Tired of being a publisher, tired of not having a weekly gaming group, and tired of not gaming as much as I would like. So, I've been taking a break. I still am, in fact.

Does that mean Cracked Mirror Publishing is dead? Nope. It just means that I'm working on things at an even slower pace than I used to. Which, as you probably know, is slow. Cracked Mirror will publish again, it's just a matter of when.

Despite that, I've been putting out Other Side of the Mirror each month. OSotM is the newsletter of Cracked Mirror and each month I fill it with opinions, book and game reviews, little game ideas, and some running commentary on the business of Cracked Mirror. If that sounds interesting, you can check it out the latest issue at RPGnow or DrivethruRPG.
